Another trip

We recently got back from another trip that was a week and a half long back to Grady's birthplace. We met up with several other people there for a time or refreshment and refocus. Though most of our time was occupied it was still nice to get away, eat some western food, and see friends we haven't seen in a while. The hotel we stayed at was in a great location and had an awesome pool. Looking forward to going back to this area in September to meet up with Britton's parents!

Have you learned that we love massages? While waiting on our plane, what better way to take the stress off travelling than sitting in a massage chair for 30 minutes?! I went first, then Britton had one. I love how the guy sitting 2 seats from him is totally sacked out with his leg drooping down not even getting massaged.
So, this was Grady's first time in a pool, and he didn't like it so much. Unfortunately, we had stuff going on all day, so we could only get to the pool after 5:00. The sun wasn't beating down, so the pool was chilly a few times including this time. Poor little dude. Caden's first experience was so wonderful and fun. We didn't even try to put Grady back in. Hopefully, we'll get another chance soon.
Caden, on the other hand, had a blast with his buddies. I loved how shallow this pool was. It came up to the adults' knees, but it was perfect for or kids to stand by themselves.
Last month, Grady had 1 tooth come in at the beginning of he month and 1 come in at the end (now, he has 4!). I always say teeth can turn the sweetest, calmest kid into a terror. This was no different for sweet, happy Grady. He still had a great week in the childcare that was provided for (seriously, they did such an awesome job...Caden said every morning he wanted to go to his class). The last day we were there, he had a screaming fest but nothing that some orajel, Tylenol, and food couldn't fix. A week before we left for our trip, Grady was starting to pull up on furniture. He loved his bed in our hotel because he could easily pull up on the bars. By the time we left, he was walking along things fast. Here he's enjoying standing and feeling his tooth. He constantly keeps his tongue stuck out now because he's feeling his teeth,
We were there over Father's Day, so we went to Britton's favorite restaurant there, then he and some guy friends all went to see the new Superman movie. Man, we have nearly funded that movie. On our way back home, we saw Superman with a friend who was with us. Unfortunately, Caden didn't take a nap like we had hoped and was scared in the theater. How stupid were we for thinking he would take a nap in there?! Britton ended up taking him out as soon as the movie started, but we had paid for his ticket and one for Caden! Then after we got back, Britton went to see it again with a local friend here. So, we've bought 5 tickets to see that movie! It was good, but I don't know about that good. Happy Father's Day!
The volunteer group that came to watch our kids also brought and paid for 800lbs of overage in their luggage just to bring us food from the states! I was blown away by the huge bag of groceries. It was such a blessing. The boys also enjoyed playing with all the food. They are on Caden's bed in this photo. By the way, our hotel room was amazing. It was so nice, and we had a flower put on our bed every night with the sheets turned down when we got back from dinner. It was so nice to be a little pampered.
This was one of the volunteers from the states and also Grady's most recent girlfriend as I like to call her. She was such a sweet girl and loved on my baby so well. I love meeting so many people and getting to hear about their lives on trips like this. I'm still amazed that so many people spent their own time and money just to come watch our kids, so we could have focused time with others. Truly a blessing.
One of the days we had the afternoon off for some couple time. We walked to a nearby, cute little diner and had a brownie and milkshakes while enjoying some good conversation about our marriage. SO thankful that we had that time just to have a break...that comes very few and far between.
Unfortunately, our last day there Caden got really sick and threw up multiple times. We quickly went to the hospital where Grady was born, and they gave him a shot and some antibiotics to help control the throwing up. That night we had our flight back into our country and spent the night in a different city before we returning to ours. As we were descending, Caden had that look on his face like he was going to throw up, so I quickly grabbed the barf bag and told him if he needed to throw up to throw up in the bag. He dry-heaved a few times, then looked at Britton and me and said I want to pr-y. So, we pr-yed our entire descent and quickly got off the plane. He didn't throw up on any of our flights thank goodness! He did, however let out some very loud gas that I'm sure relieved him a little! Caden did get to do the one thing he was begging to do the entire time we were there...ride a tuktuk. Every night I tell him to dream about his 2 best buddies and riding tuktuks together because he loves them that much. He's never more calm than when riding a tuktuk. Maybe we could get one one day! Grady also really enjoys them. The first time he rode one was when he was a week old on our way to get him circumcised...that'll be a fun story to tell his future girlfriends!
Here are 4 videos from our trip including riding a tuktuk, Grady running (more like prancing) down our hotel hallway, Caden reciting his first memory verse (for whatever reason, he says Paw-paw when talking about Paul. I find it hilarious because it sounds like the Apostle Paul is his grandpa!), and a longer one of Grady pulling up in his bed (he wasn't happy at first) and just hanging out in our room.

SO excited that we'll be back in less than 2 months to meet up with Britton's parents. Can't wait!
