We rode the water taxi to the park, which was pretty rough but a lot of fun! We were getting splashed a little, but we were already going to be wet anyway!
Entering
Sorry Randy, no Pepsi, but I loved this coke tree.
Caden and Grady enjoyed riding Santa's sleigh at the entrance.
We hit the carousel first since it was at the front.
Since the sun was out, I wanted us to get to the water park area quick before Grady fell asleep for a nap. The weather was perfect for a day at the water park, but unfortunately, since it was in the 60's at night, the water was still chilly. Grady once again wanted nothing to do with it. He just wants bath water. Can't blame him. They had a fun waterfall area next to the kid part.
Man, don't let our pale skin blind you!!
Caden was pretty cold at first and apprehensive, but he got familiar with his surroundings quick.
Grady enjoyed the water from the sidelines. Then he got bored with it :)
This was a small kids area with shallow water and a fun little slide that Caden enjoyed. That's not mud on the bottom, it's just scraped up and the waterfall is against that wall.
The wave pool was right next to the kiddie area. This park holds the Guinness World Record for the World's largest wave pool.
The wave pool was definitely big. Unfortunately, when the pool is that big there aren't many waves. Not really sure if you could even consider it a wave pool then! Caden was a little overwhelmed by the size of the pool, so we stuck to the kiddie area.
This was the slide he enjoyed and loved Britton throwing him very high in the air.
Here's 2 short videos of sliding and throwing. Gotta love the chick in the background posing for a picture. EVERYONE was posing in front of this waterfall for shots. It was quite humorous to watch. The men actually posed more than the women. And they all did some weird shots. It's amazing how silly we look when trying to look a certain way.
There were several slides that Britton and I took turns going down while the other watched the kids hence no pictures of our fun. There was also an area of a bunch of little slides that Caden enjoyed.
We headed out of the waterpark area and back into the amusement area before the park closed. We all tried to do something we enjoyed.
The last thing we did was go up a spinning tower that showed us the city. This is a shot of Caden's favorite ride. He was scared the whole time because he didn't want to go into the tiger's mouth. I would think that's pretty frightening too. But he LOVED going out of the lion's mouth, and he still talks about the log ride.
Here's a video of Britton going down with Caden (they're in the front of the log) and me coming down with Caden.
We got to see a pretty sunset while up in the tower.
We had the tower to ourselves.
These last few videos are of our fun in the amusement part of the park. I love the first one of Caden staring down the character on top of the spinning thing. The last one is of us in the tower.
One last shot before we left. Happy New Year!!
We had plans to go to a nice place that served a traditional Christmas dinner, but it was already really late when we left, and we desperately needed showers so we ate at the Sizzler at the mall on the way back. Nothing like the Sizzler for Christmas dinner! I guess we needed to round out this different day in a different way! It was good we ended up not going to that other place because we heard it was ridiculously expensive and really far away. As we left we saw a human tree, father time, and other dressed up characters along with a cool light tree.
Fun family day.
Merry Christmas!
