We started the trip off with a little hiccup, but we were in no hurry. We decided to break the trip up in 2 days, so the only place we were going was a hotel. There was some car problems but a new battery fixed it :o)
We stopped off at our sister-in-law, Glenda's parents' house for the boys to get out and play a bit. It was on the way so it worked out well.
Grady was already preparing for Disney with Olaf and a little rest. He makes for a good pillow.
The next day we travelled the rest of the way. We stopped at Firehouse subs for lunch, and all the kids got fire hats.
We finally arrived! The whole trip was truly magical! That night we went to Downtown Disney. The boys enjoyed Lego Land and the beginnings of all-things Disney.
We also got to be entertained by this ball of fire. Ha. We stood there forever watching him and laughing hysterically. He was going full steam ahead like this from before we got there until after we left.
This is a shot of our resort. Our rooms were to the right. I mainly took this shot for Caden because he loved seeing Baloo and Mowgli in the background.
We stayed at the Pop Century hotel inside Disney. It was really awesome staying there and having all things Disney. The place was huge.
For months we had been telling Caden he was going to Disney World. He really has no idea what that meant. He knew Mickey and some others would be there, but he had no clue. The time had finally come...
I loved being there at this time of the year. It was beautiful, and I loved the Fall decorations. Unfortunately, our first day was really hot and super crowded. We later found out that it was a no school day in FL that day. Bummer. Still fun!
Well, it was good to do this first thing before the kids knew what was next!
I figured the best way to get a shot of their cute shirts given from Mimi was just to have them look at the castle. Pretty amazed.
They're all so cute.
Then this happened. He knew he was at Disney when he got to ride the Buzz ride. We rode it first because we had a fast pass, but he wanted to ride it 50 times over. He had no idea how much was ahead of him.
Grady enjoyed shooting Zurg.
We got Caden an autograph book, and he was super excited to get all the characters to sign. He didn't even know who Stitch was, but he was excited about meeting him. It's like he felt like he was in a movie.
Uncle Justin and Spencer racing us.
Caden was the driver. He was a little excited as you can tell. See the below video for some crazy drunken driving (not really).
One of our next fast passes was Aladdin's magic carpet.
Here's several videos of our rides that first day. The last video is of some characters singing a birthday song for Donna, Justin, Glenda, Caden, and Grady since all their birthdays were in October. They made us believe they were going to make up this long personal song...not so much.
This was when he really went crazy over the characters. He patiently waited over 30 minutes to meet Pooh and Tigger. If you know Caden, you know he doesn't wait patiently. He bounced with Tigger and excitedly took pictures.
Mimi and Grandy took the boys to some kid shows while Britton and I went to ride Space Mountain. Caden was only 1 1/4 inch off from getting to ride it! I didn't remember it being so dark. It's also WAY crazier sitting in the front. I was a little freaked out to say the least.
Naturally, we went back to the Buzz ride. Mimi had so much fun with Caden. I love both their faces.
We were about to go because we were all getting really tired and worn out when we spotted Buzz with nearly no wait. So, we hopped in line and Caden was elated. Not quite sure what he's doing in that bottom picture. I think he wanted to hold Buzz's hand like the other characters do, but Buzz was a little too egotistical to move out of his hero position. Grady was petrified.
This is one of my favorite photos from the trip. I love the Fall!
We went back and all crashed until dinner. We ate quick then headed back to the park for a few rides then to see the parade. It was SO crowded though that we didn't stay the whole time.
We could still see a lot but decided to go home and get as much rest as we could for the next adventurous day!
