We've been back from Taiwan now for 2 weeks, which is hard to believe. We were there for 2 weeks the first half of January for Britton's last 2 classes for school. We are thrilled beyond words that travelling for his classes is over. The best part was the fellowship with close friends we don't see often and a ton of good western food. I'll do several posts on our time there, but for now we'll start with check-in. This was our first direct flight out of the country. Everywhere we've gone we have to take multiple flights, so to only have one 2 1/2 hour flight seemed like a dream. The flight was a little late, but it wasn't too bad. We got there, took a long and expensive taxi ride to our hotel, then scouted out the area. Right next to our hotel was a Burger King, TGI Friday's, Starbucks, and Subway...close to heaven! We grabbed some quick Burger King then tried to get Caden in the bed. We stayed in a very small hotel room with literally wall to wall (not an inch in between) beds. Caden loved jumping all over them to say the least. We had to go sit in the hallway every night so he could go to sleep. I think we're almost back to a normal bed time for Caden, but in Taiwan, his normal bed time was around 10:30pm, sometimes 11:30...yikes! Our first week we had some help with childcare while Britton was in class 9:00-5:00. The second week the ladies were on their own in the old hotel. So, we tried to do some fun things which I'll cover in other posts. Here's some pictures of our room.
We were told that we'd have a pack and play for Grady, but when we got there that was not available. So, Grady got to sleep in my bed. Another yikes! Fortunately, twin beds here are pretty big, but I was so paranoid I was going to hit him in the night. Fortunately, the second night a friend who had the one crib the hotel owned let us have it since they brought a pack and play. Without the crib we had a tiny space between mine and Britton's bed.
Night time story. This was Caden's 'cot' shoved next to Britton's bed
Our wall to wall beds with the crib on the end. We watched a lot of movies for entertainment.
I'm pretty sure Grady could sleep anywhere. He had a huge bed...at least he had one!
On to Taiwan...
